Hard water in your washing machine can lead to limescale build-up in your appliance.
As the limescale build-up increases over time, your heating element can eventually fail. Limescale build-up can also affect the drums, pipes, and hoses.
A content creator shared their straightforward method for getting rid of limescale using a citrusy fruit.
“Throw a lemon in the washing machine and watch all the limescale go away,” they said in their TikTok video.
Grab a lemon and cut through the parts where the lemon is naturally divided. Put the cut-up lemon in a sock and throw the sock in a washing machine. Set the washing machine to the regular wash cycle that you would if you were washing a load of laundry.

Cleaning professional Danielle Mason, who is known as @missmasoncleaning on Instagram, has shared how with the use of just one product, you could make getting rid of limescale a whole lot easier.
Mason claimed that Viakal is the “best solution” for limescale buildup on shower doors.
Mason said: “Shower glass gets built-up with limescale, condensation and all sorts of grime.
“I personally cannot do a good bathroom clean without Viakal. It is simply the best to use on shower glass. To prevent it, dry shower out every use and when you clean with this I find that it’s the best solution.”
